I stood there waiting for my chance to get entry into Rawdah ul jannah.I desparately wanted to pray in Rawhdah-the green carpet.I remembered the prophet’s saying:
“Between my house and my pulpit, there is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.” [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
It was too much crowded.The rawdah ul jannah opens for a short time for ladies. I was standing there with thousand of ladies waiting desperately to be granted an entry.But the door was closed.I was getting restless,as it was ramdhan and I was tired. when a lady spoke “The Prophet (salAllahu `alaihi wa sallam)has said, “Hell has been veiled with desires, and Paradise has been veiled with [surrounded by] hardships. and so we will wait patiently ” and this was like a dose of glucose for me.I gathered myself up with much more energy.We stood there sending darood on our beloved prophet.After half an hour the door opened and what a rush it was?
Women sitting at the back stood up and then it was go! I too gathered momentum when the others did. and then they started running.There were guard standing at the corner, telling the women off for running and repeating, “ehteram”… not that it made much difference.. and while they all picked up their abayas and ran for their lives, I walked at a normal fast pace..
It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah has angels who travel about the earth, conveying to me the salaams of my ummah.” (Saheeh Sunan al-Nasaa’i, 1215; al-Silsilat al-Saheehah, 2853).
So,we entered in a huge crowd sending salaam on prophet.
Our rasulallah returns our salaam as evident by the hadith:It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no one who sends salaams upon me, but Allaah will restore to me my soul so that I may return his salaams.”(Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood, 1795)
After surviving a lots of scrum,I was finally able to reach the green carpet.I was getting pushed and pulled in the crowd. All the while women were falling over themselves, pushing and shoving.. suddenly I found myself shaded by three helpful saudi ladies,who held hands making a semicircle, blocking other people from my way so,that I could read 2 rakat of salah.SubhanAllah! now I had this small area infront of me which seemed to be cordoned off.. no one entered into it.Here I performed two raka’at ‘tahiyyatul Masjid’ reciting ‘Surah Kafiroon’ in the first raka’at and ‘Surah Ikhlas’ in the second raka’at..Alhumdulillah Allah made it easy for me.
I go speechless when I remember my salah on the carpet of jannah.I literally cried praying to Allah subhanatallah.My legs went numb and my mind scrambled. I kissed that place of Paradise in awe of where I was standing. Here I prayed a dua which a blessed lady once told me to pray in this garden of Paradise . I prayed;
‘Ya Allah, You have promised that anyone who enters Paradise will be forbidden to enter the hellfire. Ya Allah, You are witness that I have entered Paradise so please make the hellfire forbidden upon me’. Ameen.
Then I looked around and turned towards the roza mubarak of holy prophet , I felt a dignified presence of the greatest personality-RasulAllah,the most elevated of all creation.
The sight of that place, the Roza Mubarak breaks you emotionally, brings you to your knees in realisation of the presence. It is beyond belief that you are in the presence of Rasulullah (salla lahu alayhi wa’ale hi wasallam). Here when you send salutations on the blessed Prophet (salla lahu alayhi wa’ale hi wasallam) you know that Rasulullah (salla lahu alayhi wa’ale hi wasallam) is returning the salaam.
Although women don’t have much acess to Roza mumarak.And it is not recommended for women to stand there peeping at prophet(pbuh),I would like to share a useful piece of information of information for my brothers,
“when facing the grave of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam, there are three gold wire-mesh enclosures. There are round holes in all these three enclosures. Most people are under the wrong impression that Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam is resting inside the first enclosure, Abu Bakr radhiyallahu anhu is in the second and ‘Umar radhiyallahu anhu is in the third one. This is not so. They are all resting inside the middle enclosure. There are three round holes in the middle enclosure, while only two in the enclosure on your left and two in the enclosure on your right. The first hole in the middle enclosure (which is the largest of all) directly faces the holy face of Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Moving slightly to the right is the second hole (of the middle enclosure) which faces the face of Abu Bakr radhiyallahu anhu. Likewise, a third hole on this same enclosure marks the spot where the face of ‘Umar radhiyallahu anhu rests.”
I thanked Allah heartily.I supplicated to Allah for my husband,my child,my parents,my relatives and for the whole ummah.This gathering is the highest place to supplicate to Allah (swt). There is no place within this World or within the seven heavens which is more beloved to Allah (swt) than the resting place of His beloved; Rasulullah (salla lahu alayhi wa’ale hi Wasallam).
It is painful to leave the blessed presence of prophet but eventually I left this most blessed station of Paradise in the state I had entered, which was in a state of humility and tears. Ya Rasulullah.
